Waterwoman Knits

As salmonberry flowers open, I am feeling my way toward intentionally brighter days. I am committing myself to be outside more after work rain or shine and easing toward things that make me happy without waiting for permission or reason or a new dream job.

Knit For Food this weekend raised more than last year for four food organizations, Feeding America, No Kid Hungry, World Central Kitchen, and Meals on Wheels. The committed people we hear from at each year’s knit-a-thon representing the orgs are inspirational! I would like to volunteer for Meals on Wheels in the future.

This graphic is by a fifth organization that provides some current stats, for those interested. They also provide a nationwide hotline to find food help. I am passionate about this cause because I have been grateful for assistance as many others I know who you may never guess need help getting through a month. Need is growing as prices of everything goes up and “cost of living” (what a phrase!) becomes harder to attain.

Easter/Passover/Spring Goodies

Jokingly called the 30-Hour Vegan Cinnamon Rolls, these are a family favorite. As my oven does not have a timer, I set my phone timer for 30 hours instead of 30 minutes. Smelling something close to burning was my only cue that, yes, they were more than done and I made a mistake. Nonetheless, everyone said they were tasty!

A woman in my local knitting group shared this, and as much as I am a critic of what AI is doing to Earth, I enjoyed this little created world. Though I have yet to see an AI image or video that accurately depicts knitting motion, this at least comes closer.
